We believe jewellery is meant to be worn every day. Most of the jewellery we sell requires very little care — just wear and enjoy. We do recommend taking off your jewellery when swimming, engaging in sports activities and to never apply perfume directly on the jewellery.
Here are some helpful tips to keep your jewellery looking its very best!
Gold | Mix a small amount of mild dish detergent with warm water in a bowl. Put the jewellery into the bowl and let sit for a few minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub the jewellery. Remove the piece from soapy water, rinse it and dry thoroughly with a soft polishing cloth.
You can also use a polishing kit for extra shine and to remove any tarnish.
Natural Gemstones | Please note that certain stones are more delicate than others. All gemstones should be cleaned with a soft cloth or even your finger. A gentle wipe down of your stones after wear can also help to avoid any buildup of oils or other substances. Do not expose your gemstones to alcohol and chemical-based substances such as hand sanitiser, perfume and hairspray as they may change the surface of the delicate gems. With exposure to these chemicals, the two noticeable differences are a loss of lustre and a change in colour.
Silver | Silver tarnishes quite quickly when it comes into contact with oxygen or sulphur. Happily, the best measure to prevent this is wearing your silver jewellery often. The oils in your skin help prevent tarnish. (depending on your own body chemistry.) When storing your silver jewellery, use an airtight plastic bag (like a Ziploc) and if you can, put in a piece of chalk or a silica gel – these will help prevent tarnish while you are not wearing your silver.
If your silver is tarnished the best way to clean it is with a jewellery polishing cloth. There are also many viable home remedies for cleaning silver online too. Just remember that silver is very soft so use something like a very soft baby toothbrush to avoid scratching.
Shipping within India | Orders received before 12 P.M. IST Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) usually ship the same day and takes about 4-6 business days. In case there is a delay in production, we shall notify you immediately. All orders are shipped from our studio in New Delhi.
We offer free shipping within India on all products when paid for online by credit card, debit card or net banking. We are unable to refund or replace stolen packages or un-retrieved packages that have been confirmed as delivered. We are not responsible for delays in shipping or delivery due to forces outside of our control such as weather.
International Shipping | All International orders are shipped out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only (excluding holidays). There is a flat shipping rate that is calculated during check out after your enter your shipping address.
Please also note that the shipping charges are not inclusive of any custom or import duties that may be levied upon reaching the destination country. All the products are dispatched at Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis. We cannot control these charges and are unable to estimate what they may be. Please do note that Melt does not take responsibility if the packet gets held at customs or at any other point in the destination country.
All packages will have to be signed for upon delivery.
Returns and Refunds | At Melt, a product once bought cannot be returned. However, in the following scenarios it is possible to exchange the product.
– Manufacturing Fault: Whilst we maintain the strictest quality control at Melt, if there is a product defect for which we are responsible then we can take the item back and provide you with a new one within two-four weeks time. Once your return is received, we will send you an email to notify that we have received your returned item. After running a quality check of the returned items and on approval of any manufacturing defect for which we are responsible we will re-make the item you purchased. The original product needs to be returned in the original condition accompanied by a purchase receipt, packaging and original tags. Please notify us before sending the pieces back so we can determine the best course of action. The cost of the exchange is to be borne by the customer.
Melt team holds the right to not accept returns in case the product is used or damaged by the customer. Items sent back without original packaging will incur a restocking fee. Items sent back without prior notification will not be accepted and will be returned to the sender.
Made to order pieces are considered final sale. Please make sure to measure your finger correctly before proceeding with the purchase.
Plating discolourations due to usage are not considered damage. Custom, altered, and personalized items are non-returnable and not eligible for exchange.
Please note that we are unable to accept exchange and refund for items purchased at other retail locations or other websites. We are unable to accommodate merchandise exchanges.
Orders | We are not responsible for orders that are not received due to an incorrect or incomplete delivery address and phone number. Those items marked undeliverable for this reason will be reissued if and when they are once again received at Melt and will incur a reshipment fee, so please make sure your delivery address is correct and secure. All shipments are delivered with an OTP verification so kindle make sure the phone number is correct. Always give the OTP only upon delivery of the courier.
Order Communication | Once an order is placed you will receive an email confirmation with the details of your order.
Please ensure someone is there at the given address to receive your order. Delivery will be attempted three times before the shipment is returned to our studio. There will be additional fees for further delivery attempts. Please note that we will be unable to schedule shipping for orders with incomplete address or wrong telephone number.
Cancellations | Unfortunately, we cannot cancel orders once they have been placed.
Repairs | This applies only to jewellery bought directly from shopmelt.in. In case of broken chains, please send a picture of the broken chain so we can evaluate your case and can quote you accordingly.
In the case of missing stones, we can replace your stone depending on availability. Please write to us so we can quote accordingly.
